b&m-REPTO® BU

Threaded bolt for ultrasonic embedding in plastics

The b&m-REPTO® BU is a threaded bolt for ultrasonic embedding in thermoplastics. The external thread of the bolt, which can be designed both as metric and as customer-specific, can be used for joining and assembling further components. This ensures a process-reliable and repeatable screw connection. The knurl geometry adapted to the ultrasonic embedding is essential for the later load case.

Depending on the selection of geometry and material, the b&m-REPTO® BU can be manufactured by machining or completely by cold forming. In the innovative production process using cold forming, the applied material can be used more efficiently and the thread strength can be further increased.

  • Diameter: 3mm – 8mm / larger dimensions upon request
  • Length: depending on diameter / thread length adaptable
  • Material: brass or steel (also available lead-free)
  • Thread: metric or customer-specific solutions can be produced
  • Torque absorption: takes place via the knurling designed for the assembly process
  • Axial force absorption: takes place via additionally applied circular grooves and knurls
  • Customer and application-specific bolt geometries can be produced
  • Form-fitting connection, for the ideal absorption of torques and axial forces
  • Process-reliable and repeatable connection
  • Higher thread strength by cold forming
  • More efficient production in terms of material and cost, due to constant-volume production process with cold forming
  • Innovative manufacturing process enables short process times and high output quantities
  • Subsequent embedding on the component is possible
  • Unreinforced thermoplastics
  • Reinforced thermoplastics with up to 50% glass fiber content
  • Battery housing
