Tailor-made development: How b&m-CONTACTSCREW® makes a difference

The past four months have been very intense. Now, the new member of the baier & michels product family is in operation: b&m-CONTACTSCREW®, metric screw with additional function for electric ground contacting.

The story of this screw begins during an exchange with experts from Kurtz Ersa. The mechanical engineering company faced a tricky challenge with regard to greater efficiency in assembly work. Our R&D team led by Olaf Ambros took it on and developed a tailor-made connection technology solution.

The b&m-CONTACTSCREW^® serves as a ground contact for earthing, whilst also functioning as a tool and fastener in one. It impresses by a ring cutter under the head, eliminating the need for additional earthing cables. Moreover, using it avoids problems when fitting in the clogged nut thread.
 
The clou of this cooperation: only four months passed from the first meeting at Kurtz Ersa to the appointment with the final screwing tests and the order commitment.
