In the "KiTec - Kids Discover Technology" project, youngsters can satisfy their curiosity by tinkering and constructing in an age-appropriate way. An exciting journey begins! b&m accompanies the sixth graders of the Georg-Christoph-Lichtenberg-Schule (GCLS) in Ober-Ramstadt as an educational partner.
In cooperation with the non-profit association “Wissensfabrik”, which coordinates the KiTec initiative, we have supplied tools and materials to the GCLS students and their teacher Sylvia Wimmer.

Career path: How Klaus Fichtelberger made it at baier & michels (b&m) in Ober-Ramstadt.
When Klaus Fichtelberger finished school in the mid-1990s, he imagined that his former teacher would be proven right. “From Thomas Jühe, I kept hearing the phrase: ‘Klaus, you can do it!’” reports Fichtelberger. The Pfungstadt native found his initial situation difficult with regard to career prospects. “I had an extended secondary school degree, hardly any knowledge of English and, moreover, initially no idea how I could develop myself further.”

According to experts, it takes around 80 mature beech trees to compensate one ton of the greenhouse gas carbon dioxide (CO2) in the air every year. This calculation illustrates the benefit to nature that an emission saving of 219 tons of CO2 per year can achieve; such an achievement – equivalent to the capacity of 17,520 beech trees – has been accomplished by b&m in 2022.
